Divorce Living Together Manga Gets TV Drama

February 3, 2010 – 11:49 am

The 10th issue of Shinchosha’s Weekly Comic Bunch magazine has announced on Friday that a television drama adaptation of Cocco Kashiwaya’s Divorce Living Together (Rikon Dōkyo) comedy manga has been green-lit. The drama will premiere on May 11, while Kashiwaya will launch a manga sequel, tentatively titled Rikon Dōkyo 2nd Season, in the 13th issue of the magazine on February 26.

Sadao Abe, the vocalist of the GROUP Tamashii comedy/punk rock band and the star of Maiko Haaaan!!!, will play the husband Ryūji, while Eriko Satoh, the lead actress of the live-action Cutie Honey film and the live-action Densha Otoko television drama, will play the wife Harumi. Despite a happy family life, Ryūji suddenly declares a divorce from Harumi. However, the two end up in an awkward, surreal living arrangement when they are forced to remain under one roof.
